What supports do the NDIS provide funding for?
Allocated NDIS funding depends on the needs of the individual participant. The NDIS will fund supports that are reasonable and necessary and will assess individuals looking for assistance under the following circumstances:
- The support offered has to relate to the disability of the participant
- Funding does not cover costs unrelated to the disability support needs
- Support must be a good value for money
- Support can only be given if it will benefit the participant
NDIS supports will also consider the support offered by the participant’s family, home carers, community and their wider network.
